Let’s Talk About It Counselling - Online Therapy Across the UK

About Yvonni -

Online Counsellor in Edinburgh & Across the UK

Yvonni Gkergkes

Finding the right counsellor is an important decision. I'd like to share a little about myself, my background, and the values that shape my work, so you can have a better idea of who I am.

My Journey - Why I Chose Counselling

I’ve lived, worked, and studied in four cities across the UK and Greece, and have called Edinburgh home for the past nine years. After years of working in supporting roles and going through my own major life changes, I found deep value in therapy. That experience led me to realise that the most fulfilling path for me was to support others as a counsellor - a path I began in 2018 and have continued to find deeply meaningful ever since.

My Training - Counselling & Humanities

I hold an HND and HNC in Pluralistic and Integrative Counselling, as well as an Honours and Master’s degree in Humanities & Social Sciences. Alongside formal training, my studies in history, sociology, and anthropology enrich my psychotherapeutic work, giving me a deeper understanding of how culture, identity, and social factors shape our daily lives and experiences.

My Work & Life Values

Both in my work and personal life, I value curiosity, lifelong learning, and meaningful human connection. These values shape not only how I live, but also how I work with my clients.

Clients often describe me as warm, approachable and easy to talk to. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing whatever is on your mind, without fear of judgement or pressure to have everything figured out.

I believe that every person's story is unique. My role isn't to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with curiosity, compassion and honesty, helping you understand yourself more deeply and find ways forward that feel right for you.
