Online Counselling based in Newington, Edinburgh

About Me

Yvonni Gkergkes

I am happy to share with you a few things about my personal background. I have lived, worked, and studied in four cities in the UK and Greece. I am now based in Edinburgh for the last seven years. Through my work experience, I accumulated years of working in supportive roles with people. I spent over a decade searching for my passion, 'my calling', through my studies and life experiences. Perhaps like you, I have been through major life changes and challenges. Throughout the years, I found great support in my own counselling and psychotherapy sessions.

My educational background includes an HND and an HNC in Pluralistic and Integrative Counselling, and an honours and a master’s degree in Humanities & Social Sciences which enrich my counselling practice.

My studies in Humanities (history, sociology, anthropology) inform my counselling work as I have deeply engaged with concepts like culture, identity, race, gender, religion, socio-economic status, and more. Social concepts that influence aspects of our lives and experiences.
